How to read Malyalam (or other Indian Languages) in Android mobiles. Here is the solution. Even though the text rendering is not fully perfect ,at least it will help us to read the facebook comments and other posts written using Indian Languages.
But for doing this you have to ROOT your Android mobile. ROOTING is a process which allow the users to do some additional tasks which is not available for a normal user. But most important thing is that it void the guarantee of your Android device. But once you done it successfully it has got lots of advantages.
Once you rooted the mobile follow these simple steps
- Download and install ES File Explorer from Android Market.
- Open ES File Explorer.
- Allow the SuperUser permission.
- Under the settings menu check ‘Root Explorer’ and ‘Mount File System’.
- Change the Home directory to “/”
- Download DroidSansFallback.zip to your mobile.
- Extract it using ES File Explorer (By long pressing the zip folder this option will be available).
- Copy the DroidSansFallback.ttf and paste it in System/Fonts folder (Its not in SD card its a system folder, in usual case after setting Home Directory to “/” it will be shown unless find it manually).
- Which will ask to replace the existing file, replace it (Its advised to back up the copy of the same).
- Now take browser or Facebook app and enjoy reading in your mother tongue.
You can see that the rendering is not perfect,but still we can read it.
